Sworders were delighted to present first place and other prizes at the Victor Ludorum Polo tournament, sponsored by Sworders, that took place on February 26th at Rugby Polo Club.
This was the first ever winter season Victor Ludorum Arena Polo Tournament hosted by Rugby Polo Club. The Victor Ludorum is a prestigious league played all over the country where teams have to gain points over the season to win the trophy. There were teams visiting from Oxfordshire with Thomson Local and Berkshire’s TEX8n Polo against two local teams, Twisted and Bushpigs. Some excellent players fought in two tight games in the Sunday final and sub final. It was fast paced, furious and strongly competitive, open and perfect for spectating. TEX8N polo won the final 13–11 against Thomson Local, the tightest game of the whole tournament, both teams unsure of who was going to win from the start to the end! The sub final was won by Twisted 10–6 against the Bushpigs, with spectators enjoying two tight finals that had everyone on the edge of their seats.
Angus Hudson, Principal at Sworders, and Katherine Brett, an architect, were delighted to give out the prizes which included the award for Most Valuable Player which went to Benjie Bradshaw.
