Adding Value Grant is now available.
The grant will prioritise applications looking to develop a new business, shorten the food chain, collaboratively working, improve environmental sustainability and increase, improve & introduce processing capabilities of either edible or non-edible agricultural products. Products could include equipment to prepare and produce edible and non-edible agricultural products, retailing equipment and premises for the preparation and processing of products. The grant will contribute 40% of the total capital cost, with a minimum contribution of £25,000 with a maximum of £300,000. For example minimum overall product cost needs to be £62,500 or above to secure 40% funding.
Example items:
- Vending machines
- Processing machinery e.g. milk to cheese or agricultural wool to jumpers or rugs
- Bottling, packing, washing, sorting, grading, dicing, cutting etc. machinery
- Building for retail and processing
- Retail equipment such as tills and cabinets
Applications will be made through the Rural Payments Agency, the application window opened 9th June and you have until the 21 July 2022 to submit your application. The application is a two stage process, stage 1 is a pre-application to check eligibility against funding priorities and stage 2 if you meet eligibility criteria is a full application.
