It was announced last week that there is going to be a new round for the Farming Equipment and Technology Fund, which offers grants for specific items of equipment to increase productivity, boost environmental sustainability and improve animal health and welfare. The fund is split into 2 key themes, one being Productivity & Slurry and the other Animal Health & Welfare.
This is the second round following a successful first round last year, it is expected to open again later this month (February) for Productivity & Slurry and in March for Animal Health & Welfare. This is competitive funding with each item being scored, if you are successful you buy the item and can then claim for the reimbursement with the receipt. The funding per item is set, for example a mobile cattle handling system offers a grant of £5,570, trailing shoe slurry system (8 meters) £8,017 to name a couple.
If you would like further information on how to apply, please do not hesitate to contact your local office. Particularly as funding is competitive, when the moneys gone, its gone!
