DEFRA have revealed that there are approximately 50 new actions proposed for the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) in 2024 and a 10% increase on average to the value of existing SFI agreements and options. New options to be available later this year will include nesting plots for lapwings, connecting river and floodplain habitats together, management of grasslands against flood and drought resistance and precision farming options. These new options will add to the existing options already available through SFI and Countryside Stewardship.
With the Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) now delinked from the land as of the 01 January 2024, plus payments have now reduced to 50% of what you received in 2020, now could be a good time to speak to one of our experts to consider available options to fit alongside your current farming enterprises.
